Crown by ARCC – branding, print design, website, photography

Salamandra was commissioned to deliver a unique hipster branding project for The Crown by ARCC pub, in Martley, Worcestershire. After significant renovation of The Crown, a major rebrand was needed to reflect their new direction.

 

What was the brief?

A rebrand of The Crown’s image – When The Crown approached us they had only a logo and an idea for their pub. We were to design the brand; covering the guidelines, promotional and functional print media, venue and food photography, website design and build, and social media branding.

 

What did Salamandra create?

As is our usual starting approach with clients launching a new brand, or doing a major brand overhaul, we began with creating comprehensive brand guidelines to help inform all future collateral. The client provided the logo, and robust briefing on the look they wanted to create.

We then designed and implemented the website for the pub, fitting it to the brand guidelines, and integrating it with the clients booking system. The website has also been designed to allow the client to manage their content and keep it fresh with special menus, and events.

Salamandra created a whole series of designs for print – including menus, posters, colouring sheets, invitations and of course the piece de resistance, the huge hand drawn map of the area with local suppliers marked on.

Created using the defined ‘hipster’ Crown styling, these were lovely pieces to research and were a real joy to design.

Salamandra also arranged a photoshoot at The Crown, at the time of the launch, and got some fabulous shots of the venue, team and food and drinks!

What was our favourite part?

Besides the (completely necessary) sampling of The Crown menu? It’d have to be either the set of menus we created, or the huge hand drawn map showing the pub location surrounded by all its local suppliers.

 

And, what did the client think?

“The work is brilliant. I’ve never come across a company that can do all the marketing services you offer before. When working with large Breweries, we had to deal with various agencies, and you wipe the floor with them. A fab one-stop marketing team!”
