Silhouette Sarah – branding, motion graphics / video

Silhouette Sarah case study banner

Salamandra was thrilled to get involved with the promotion of the fantastically skilled Silhouette Sarah, one of the few remaining freehand silhouette cutters left in the United Kingdom.

What was the brief?

In aid of Silhouette Sarah’s rebrand from Visage Silhouettes, to Silhouette Sarah we were asked to design her new logo, and to make an ident animating her logo. We were also asked to do a film shoot at one of Sarah’s events, and to edit a promotional video with animated titling to send to clients, demonstrating her skills.

What did Salamandra create?

Salamandra worked with Sarah to create a new logo, using a silhouette she produced, and creating a custom type font. After presenting Sarah with options, and the typography was chosen, Salamandra created several versions of the logo, for use in print and online.

The logo was then cut up and animated, to create a video top and tail, for Sarah to use on her promotional materials. Salamandra also filmed and edited a video of Sarah at an event, to create a promotional piece, to be used across social media.

What was our favourite part?

We loved working collaboratively with Sarah, using her artwork in the logo and bringing it to life in the ident animation. It was also very satisfying to bring our Sarah’s bubbly personality during the interviewing process to extract her ‘story’.

The results?

The video has been a great marketing tool for Sarah, and has helped her boost numbers on her social media pages – with the video gathering 7400 views on her facebook page.

And, what did the client think?

” Wow. What a wonderful animation video. Great quality, entertaining and slick. Can I say anymore…. oh yes, and a lovely lady to deal with.”
