case study: isolation animation, lockdown animation series

1 set of animation studios + global pandemic = lockdown animation!

what was the brief?

As part of the #lockdownanimation challenge, our lively lounge were among a cohort of animation studios tasked with creating a 15-second animation...but there’s a catch.

We only got to see the very last frame of the previous studio’s section—and that's not all! Since our lively lounge loves a challenge, we upped the ante by splitting the 15 seconds between our creatives, leaving only 3 seconds each to animate.

We collaborated on the project with Ruth Ducker at Roobot Productions, and having had great success, one lockdown animation quickly became two! We can’t show you the full animations, but we can certainly show our contribution from the lizard lounge!

what did we create?

what was our favourite part?

Aside from the opportunity to get our creative juices flowing, there was something quite unifying about coming together with likeminded creatives in an otherwise remote and isolated environment.

It’s also not every day we get to work alongside our competition * wink wink *, so finding some middle ground and working together towards a greater goal truly gave our lizards a sense of collaboration outside our internal team.

not sure how to embark on your own animation journey?

we’ve got you covered!
